Sue’s Message

As we come upon the fall season, I am reminded that Fall represents the harvest.  It is a time when we reap the harvest of what we have sown, put aside some seed for re-planting next year, and get ready for our winter rest.

I love how nature reminds us of our physical journey.  As we travel this spiritual path, there is much work to be done.  We are reading and contemplating and meditating and praying and affirming and attending classes and going to church and listening to CD’s, etc...

The fall season reminds us that there is a harvest right before us to be deliciously enjoyed!  Our life is not just all about doing our spiritual work, it is also about enjoying the fruits of our harvest.  It is about discovering and uncovering the wonderful things that have grown in our lives and enjoying them in the present moment.

As you look around your life today, what is before you that is yet to be discovered or uncovered that will delight you?

The other day I was noticing that our lawn was getting a little brown so I decided to check out our new “sprinkler system”.  Now, I have never had a sprinkler system before so I was quite interested in discovering more about this one.  I can’t even describe the true delight I felt when I turned it on and watched each individual sprinkler rise up out of the earth and dance with the other sprinklers in the yard creating a creative display of water dancing everywhere!  At certain points I could even see rainbows appearing.  I sat and watched and absorbed the deliciousness of this harvest.  You see, for years I have been planting the seeds of a greater experience of prosperity and this was one of the ways in which the seed produced.

Another way this has shown up for me has been in planting the seeds of more free time to enjoy with my family.  The other night I sat and watched (and laughed hysterically) as my three year old grandson played soccer with eight other three and four year olds.  Now, the operative word here is “play”, as for the most part they ran and fell and laughed and cried and ate snacks and waved to their parents!  The point is, I was deliciously enjoying the harvest of a seed planted some time ago.

So today my friends, what is there for you to discover or uncover?  What harvest is right there in front of you ready and waiting for you to deliciously enjoy it?  I promise you, it’s here.

Jesus said in John 4:35
Do you not say, 'Four months more and then the harvest'? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.”

In joy of the journey,

Sue
