Youth Ministries News

First a round of thanks to everyone who

made Vacation Bible School possible:

Pamela Brennaman for music every

day, Janet Weber, Nanette Taylor,

Rebecca Clark, Alice Merrifield, and

Marie DeArmon for conducting

classes, Shelley Hume, Sherry

Cantrell and Mary Hilsabeck for daily

snack and kitchen duty, parents Mark

and Sarah Mauzey, Valerie Peterson,

and Krista Willis who stayed and

pitched in everywhere, and our teen

“prefects” Christian, Libby, Emily,

Beckey,  Duncan, Nadia, Carter,

Aleshia, Braden, Alexx, Michael,

Zach, and Cameron. A special mention

goes to Nicholas the Magician for an

amazing performance and Kathy Shade

for an entire week of themed snacks fit

for wizards! We also appreciated the

love offerings and donations made to

VBS.  A million thanks!

            Teen Choir practices with

Pamela and De on Wednesdays at 5

p.m. If you are in grades 6-12, there’s

room for you!  This is not your ordinary

church choir; come check us out before

you miss anything else!

Coming in September:

Uniteen Retreat in Kingston, Oklahoma

($115 per person)…Y.O.U.  will provide

support staff again this year….

Ice Cream Social just for fun-Sept. 14th. 

Teacher training with SCUCA consultant

Mary Grace Sorenson has been postponed

due to her scheduling conflicts.  Rescheduled

for April 18, 2009.

Coming in October:

Halloween party for students through fifth

grade– Saturday, Oct 25th. 

Annual Bonfire– Sunday, Oct 26th!

            Our goal is to help children discover their spirituality and apply the teachings of Jesus in their daily lives.  Everyone is welcome here!

Nursery is available during both worship services for babies and toddlers up to age three.  Classes are conducted for Y.O.U. (Youth of Unity—grades 9-12), Uniteens (grades 6-8), and children through grade five during the 11:00 a.m. worship service.  We also have an activity hour during the 9:15 a.m. worship service for all ages.  Parents are invited to drop off their child 15 minutes before the start of services.  Of course, parents are always welcome to join us during class time.

             Expectations for attendance in Sunday school

*You may drop off your child at 9:00am for first service or 10:45am for second service. 

*Please pick up your child at the Sunday school classroom promptly after the service lets out.

*For the safety of the children, please be sure to fill out an Emergency Information & Permission Slip form on each child in attendance.

*Christ Church Unity Youth Ministries strives to teach children to apply the teachings of Jesus Christ to their everyday lives. With this in mind, we will provide a loving accepting environment and expect the same from the children…this would include but not be limited to no name calling, no physical threats, no bullying. IF a situation were to occur where a child is not participating in a loving manner and is needing redirection, a parent may be called out of the service to address the child and situation.
